Day 1Casablanca – Rabat – Fes
Pick-up at the airport or your accommodation in Casablanca. Stop in Rabat (Hassan Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum) and continue to Fes.
Day 2Guided tour of Fes
We explore Morocco’s oldest imperial city: entering through Bab Bou Jeloud, wandering the medina’s alleys, Bou Inania madrasa, Al Qarawiyyin and the tanneries.
Day 3Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
We pass Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco”, and the cedar forest, have lunch in Midelt and drive down the Ziz Valley and Erfoud to Merzouga.
Day 4Erg Chebbi dunes and a nomad family visit
A day in the desert: we drive around the Erg Chebbi dunes and visit a nomad family and the Gnawa village of Khamlia. At sunset, a camel ride to the camp in the dunes.
Day 5Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Sunrise over the dunes, ride back and breakfast. We pass Rissani, walk through Todra Gorge and arrive in the Dades Valley.
Day 6Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Past Berber villages and mud-brick kasbahs we reach Ouarzazate. We visit the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah and cross the High Atlas to Marrakech.
Day 7Guided tour of Marrakech
A full day with a local guide in the Marrakech medina: Jemaa el Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the souks.
Day 8Transfer to Marrakech airport
